I got a strange one the other day. The seller just sent me a tell saying something like, “Excuse me, are you busy?” And when I replied, then he went on to ask me if I needed any gold. It was very polite and kind of disconcerting.
They usually start by saying something like “hey how are you doing?”, “hi”, or something that you just *have* to respond to since you are polite. Then they offer you gold and you feel violated :/
It’s a strange dichotomy for certain. It’s evolved into sort of a telemarketing thing where they try and string you on with congenial pleasantries and by the time they’re making the pitch you feel obligated to now offer a ‘Er, no thank you?’
I guess they’re being polite about their exploits.
