When playing World of Warcraft make sure you check the “Sound in background” box in Sound options. That way you will hear things like when a boat arrives to its destination, or more importantly when a rogue starts ganking you when you are alt-tabbed and reading a forum thread (or right now writing a blog post). If you are happen to be a protection warrior you can also tab back to the game and proceed to kick the cowardly a** who tried to kill someone who was AFK.
